A chance meeting working for a title company in the Willamette Valley is how Bryan and Emily Coe were blessed to earn their titles as Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Coe.
Their paths happily collided at AmeriTitle offices in Corvallis and Albany, Oregon. Both were working college students:
- Bryan attended Oregon State University where he studied communications
- Emily studied business at Linn-Benton Community College
A Pride-and-Prejudice Start
Emily laughingly recalls that she thought Bryan was so terrific she encouraged two of her friends to meet him.
"I told them, 'you should date him — he is such a great guy!'"
However, Bryan had his eyes on the prize — the lovely Emily, who already had a boyfriend.
Time passed. Bryan was patient. Fireworks flew between the two — and the rest is history. The duo married in 2003.
Back to Klamath Falls
After graduation and a year living in Albany, Oregon, the newlyweds decided to return to Klamath Falls — where they would have opportunities to grow, have a family, and a huge network of support from Bryan's large and extended family.
Klamath Falls was Bryan's home — and where he graduated as a Klamath Union Pelican in 1999.
Four Children — Two Born, Two Adopted
Now, two decades later, they have a beautiful family including four fabulous children and much to be thankful for.
Aidan (17) and Gavin (15) — Born Premature
Their two eldest boys — Aidan (17) and Gavin (15) — were both born prematurely. The second progressively earlier than the first.
While still wanting to grow their family, the Coes had reservations about the worries and challenges that accompanied early births. So they agreed: "let's adopt."
The Adoption Journey
They found an adoption service they trusted. They created a book — "All About Us" — to be appealing as potential adoptive parents.
Then they prayed.
Then the call came.
The Twin Daughters
The Coes' family expanded with the addition of twin daughters Lauren and Tinley — adopted shortly after birth, completing the family of six.
Lauren — described by family as the one who "made it look beautiful," referring to how she carried herself through any challenge.
Tinley — one of Lauren's best pals — is a free spirit.
"Tinley is bottled up sunshine. She puts on any type of music and makes up her own freestyle dance routines. She is upbeat and such good energy." — Bryan
The Age-Gap Family
Despite the age difference between the older boys (15 and 17) and the younger twin girls, the twins love spending time with their big brothers.
"The girls can 'Fortnite' (a popular video game) competitively with their bros." — Emily
That kind of cross-generation sibling closeness in an age-gap family is exactly the gift adoption can produce — when the older kids and the younger kids genuinely enjoy each other's company.
Two Careers in Klamath Falls
Emily still works with AmeriTitle — having grown up in that business. Emily's mom worked for a title company, and Emily said she has been working on funding packages and wearing a blazer to work since she was 12 years old — so it comes pretty naturally.
Bryan works in a complementary career to Emily:
- Owner/Licensed Property Manager of All Seasons Property Management — which he started in 2008
- Mortgage Broker for All Seasons Mortgage
That combination — title company + property management + mortgage brokerage — covers the entire residential real-estate ecosystem for Klamath Basin clients.
Being Fully Present
Despite both working full-time and having rewarding careers, the Coes create time to be actively involved and attend the many activities of their four children.
"Being fully present — whether at sporting events, artistic performances, or in conversation with our kids — is extremely important to us. No matter the level of competition, we want to be rooting them on and celebrating their involvement." — Bryan
That's the parenting philosophy that produces kids who feel valued — who know their parents see and care about the things they care about.
Each Kid's Unique Gifts
Emily agrees wholeheartedly:
"We want to help find and nurture each of our kids' special gifts. They are each so unique and different. We love that they all enjoy and are gifted in different areas — and we want them to thrive with what they've been blessed with." — Emily
Unified Parenting
"As parents and partners, we take pride in being unified in the discipline of our kids." — Emily
That unified-parenting approach is one of the strongest predictors of healthy family dynamics — kids who can't play one parent off another tend to internalize the rules better and feel more secure in the family structure.
Mutual Pride
Bryan shares Emily's gifts as a photographer:
"Emily has invested years, time, and tears into becoming a really great photographer. She invested her best, her time, her emotions. I am super proud of her!"
And Emily reciprocates — saluting Bryan's contagious commitment to fostering young talent:
"He loves teaching younger people about things he is good at and knows about. Particularly with finances, budgeting, and investing — he wants people to have financial strengths and understand their situations. It is a gift. He is an encourager, a source of positivity and light." — Emily
Klamath as the Best Place
The Coes' generous spirits are quick to credit the Basin as the best place to live. Bryan — who refers to himself as a "homer", a hometown boy who will always love the community.
"I was raised here. I love it here. It is a special place. The people here are why I persuaded Emily to move to Klamath Falls 20 years ago. We love raising our family here. Our community's people are so kind, generous, service-oriented, and encouraging — the same goals we have for our family." — Bryan
Faith, Family, Disneyland
The Coes' headline values — Faith, Family, and Disneyland Devotees — capture the spirit of the family:
- Faith — anchoring their adoption story, their parenting, their unified approach
- Family — the relentless commitment to being present for the kids
- Disneyland Devotees — the family ritual that says "we make memories together"
