At Klamath Living, we take immense joy in sharing stories of the diverse and inspiring local families that enrich our community.

Their stories — filled with love, resilience, and triumph — are the threads that weave the unique tapestry of our community.

If you know a family whose story deserves to be heard and celebrated, we would love to connect with them. Reach out to us at KristenMiller@bestversionmedia.com.

Let's continue to honor these families and share their stories — perpetuating the spirit of unity and strength that makes our community so special.

Thanks to the following families for gracing the covers of Klamath Living's first year of production.

Premiere Edition · October 2022 — The Street Family

Nine years ago, Chad and Cassie Street were assigned to Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base in Oregon — with no idea they would come to cherish their new home.

Originally from Idaho, the couple fell in love with the Southern Oregon lifestyle and made strong bonds within the community — prompting them to make Klamath Falls their permanent abode.

Their family expanded with the birth of triplets Wyatt, Truett, and Emmett, followed by twins Brooks and Chase — adding to their firstborn daughter Kaydance.

Chad serves at Kingsley Field while Cassie is a local teacher. The children are active in local sports and activities, with the family enjoying the outdoor Oregon life. They also moved to a home outside town near the Henley complex, with plans to expand their backyard farm.

Heidi and Andrew were eventually drawn back to Heidi's hometown of Klamath Falls — making it their permanent home in 2012. Despite Andrew's commute, the couple readily embraced the slower pace and close-knit community.

Today, Heidi serves as the Executive Director of the Klamath Community Foundation and is actively involved in numerous local organizations, while Andrew contributes his financial expertise to local committees and the church — proving that their love for their community runs deep.

February 2023 — The Henslee Family

Dave and Benji Henslee's journey began at Oregon State University in 1989 — where they met at a sorority-fraternity mixer. Their four-year courtship led to marriage in July 1993 after graduation.

Dave — a former Klamath Falls Chief of Police and now a Klamath County Commissioner — admired Benji's strength, independence, and ambition. They raised three talented daughters: Jessica (an athletic trainer), Chelsea (a Physician Assistant School student), and Caydan (an associate at the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities).

After starting their careers in Corvallis, they moved to Albany, Oregon, where they faced the challenges of law-enforcement life with unity and commitment. Eventually they were drawn to Klamath Falls — where Dave contributed his policing and leadership skills as Chief of Police, overseeing the rebranding of the Klamath Falls Police Department and a renewed emphasis on trust, respect, and inclusive communication within the department.

March 2023 — The Coe Family

Bryan and Emily Coe — both college students studying business — met while working at AmeriTitle in Corvallis, Oregon. They married in 2003 and relocated to Bryan's hometown of Klamath Falls to raise a family and benefit from a supportive network.

Their sons Aidan and Gavin were born premature — and their full story is one of faith, family, and (as they put it) being Disneyland Devotees. Cover photo by Emily Coe.

April 2023 — The Mick Family

The Mick Family loves sports, the outdoors, Oregon Tech, and each other. The family that plays together stays together — the perfect tagline for a Klamath Basin family deeply rooted in athletics, hard work, and home. Cover photo by Brenda Mick.

July 2023 — The Trejo Family

The Trejo family, residing in the Pacific Terrace neighborhood of Klamath Falls, is a vibrant blend of diverse interests and talents.

Nicole Trejo — an English educator and founder of Manzanita Photography — and her husband Brock, a family-medicine practitioner — have fostered a nurturing environment for their five children: Seattle, Bexley, Gray, Penny, and Maggie.

With Brock's rich history in soccer, Nicole's passion for literature and creative writing, and the children's various hobbies ranging from singing and playing instruments to soccer and dance, the family is deeply involved in sports, hobbies, and community activities.

The Trejos are also actively engaged in their community — participating in neighborhood events and cherishing their neighbors. They embody a spirit of community involvement, creativity, and education — enriching the lives of those around them through their diverse talents and contributions.

August 2023 — Henry "ThunderBoy" Rondeau

Henry "ThunderBoy" Rondeau — a Native American musician, dancer, and mentor — has emerged as a key figure in promoting the cultural practices of song and dance within his community.

Facing adversity early on due to the loss of his father to alcoholism, Henry was determined to break the cycle and honor his father's memory by seeking healing through cultural practices. Cover image by Mary Williams Hyde.

A Year of Stories. A Lifetime of Friends.

Twelve cover families. Twelve unique stories. Twelve reminders that Klamath Falls is built by the people who choose to live here, raise families here, serve here, and stay here.

We are deeply grateful to every family who has trusted us with their story over the past year — and to every reader who has welcomed Klamath Living into their home each month.

To year two — and to the families who will share their stories with us next.

If that family is yours — reach out. We'd love to meet you.
