Cassidy Bogatay and Lina Stanfield share their story of the transformative growth and skills gained through their involvement with Klamath Union High School's DECA organization. The KU DECA chapter began in 1994 and aims to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. In 2024, 22 KU students qualified for the International Conference, presenting the challenge of raising $44,000 for the trip. Cassidy and Lina crafted a fundraising blueprint, selling dinner boxes to raise funds and ensure all qualifying members could attend. The project aimed to raise funds, develop skills, and strengthen community bonds. Lina emphasized the significance of community support and the memories created. Cassidy highlighted the leadership and communication skills gained. The planning phase involved setting clear goals and assigning key roles.
