Dave and Benji Henslee's destinies intertwined at a fraternity-sorority mixer at Oregon State University back in 1989. As 18-year-old business and accounting students, their relationship blossomed throughout their four years of university. They tied the knot in July 1993, just after their graduation ceremony.

Dave, who used to serve as the Chief of Police in Klamath Falls and is currently a Klamath County Commissioner, reminiscences their university days and budding romance fondly. "Benji was a powerhouse of strength, individuality, and intrigue," Dave recalls. "She was driven by her own ideas, determination, and deep-rooted dedication towards her aspirations. I was sure she would make an excellent life partner, and we would achieve great things together."

The attributes that drew Dave towards Benji are strikingly similar to the traits and thought processes exhibited by their three exceptional daughters. Jessica is a sports trainer at the University of Maryland, Chelsea is pursuing her Physician Assistant studies at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Los Angeles, and Caydan is an associate focusing on International, Community, and Economic Engagement at the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities.

Thanks to the Henslee Family for sharing their story in the February 2023 edition of Klamath Living Magazine.
