City of Klamath Falls Geothermal System DATE: 09/28/2026 KLAMATH FALLS, OR – On Tuesday September 29, 2026, Water / Geothermal Division crews will begin activating the geothermal system for the fall and winter season. Geothermal Maintenance CrewBeginning September 29, crews will start charging the downtown geothermal infrastructure for the fall and winter season. The Division’s goal is to have the entire system fully operational by Thursday October 1, 2026. During this startup period, customers may experience reduced heat in their private systems until the end of business day on Thursday Water/Geothermal Division Staff would like to thank our citizens in advance for their patience during this startup process.
