Ross Ragland Theater
A 501(c)(3) community performing-arts theater serving Klamath Falls since 1940 (originally the Art Deco Esquire Theater, transformed into a live-performance venue by community rescue in the 1980s). The Ragland hosts touring acts, local theater companies, classical concerts, youth programs, the Klamath Symphony, Klamath Music Festival/Showcase Series, Most Excellent Theophilus, NOIR, the annual Masquerade Education Fundraiser, and original Klamath-staged productions. Two cover features in 2025-2026 — June 2025's "Discover the Magic of Community Theater" (behind the curtain on Anastasia and the volunteer community) and January 2026's "Music, History, and Community at the Ross Ragland — Featuring Curtis Peoples" (the outgoing Executive Director's journey).
Klamath Family YMCA
Serving the Klamath Basin since 1944 through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility — including the Youth Development Center afterschool program, Preschool Promise, aquatics, fitness, and the annual Community Campaign that scholarships nearly 1,000 children and families each year. Klamath Living has covered the Y across 10+ feature pages spanning leadership transition, scholarship campaign, golf tournaments, and youth sports programs.
Klamath Music
A locally-based nonprofit putting Klamath Falls on the West Coast music map — from the annual Klamath Music Festival and the year-round Klamath Music Showcase Series at Mia & Pia's, to Under Klamath Skies at the County Museum, the Glenn Justus Memorial Scholarship for young musicians, and ongoing professional-development for area artists.
Miss Klamath County / Miss City of Sunshine Scholarship Program
Local affiliate of the Miss Oregon Scholarship Program and the Miss America Organization — one of the nation's leading scholarship providers for young women. The Klamath County program supports delegates through year-of-service appearances, scholarship competitions, and community-service initiatives. 2024 saw Miss Klamath County Allyssa Defillipo named Miss Oregon Top 5 and Fourth Runner-Up, plus Miss Klamath County's Teen Novalee Tubbs and Miss City of Sunshine's Teen Seattle Trejo both earning Top 5 and Congeniality recognition at Miss Oregon's Teen.
Greater Klamath CityFest / Luis Palau Association
A recurring community-wide gospel-revival and service event uniting 50+ evangelical churches across the Greater Klamath Falls area, organized in partnership with the Luis Palau Association (a 501(c)(3) global Christian ministry). CityFest 2023 drew 10,000+ attendees; the April 2026 return is headlined by Bonanza-native Ryan Stevenson. Spawned the ongoing CityServe initiative addressing homelessness (Klamath Cares free-services days), youth and family, and Tidy Town Days community cleanups across the basin.
Klamath Tool Library / Sustainable Klamath
A community resource where Klamath County residents can borrow tools — over 1,700 tools available for home, yard, and DIY projects — for a $25 annual membership. A project of Sustainable Klamath, a 501(c)(3) operating in the basin since 1995.
KOSS — Klamath Outdoor Science School
Immersive outdoor science programs for Klamath-area youth — 1,500+ children served in 2024 alone (a 50% year-over-year increase). Summer camp, field-based education, and the new Youth Leaders program, supported by community donations to keep camp accessible regardless of ability to pay.
Klamath Symphony
40–50 musicians from across the basin presenting three formal concerts each year at the Ross Ragland Theater, plus a free outdoor concert at the end of summer. Conductor Christopher Benjamin leads the ensemble; programs span fairytale-pop family concerts to fall and spring classical seasons.
Sky Lakes Foundation
Raising funds to support Sky Lakes Medical Center's mission of compassionate care across the Klamath Basin — an independent, nonprofit health system built by the community in 1965, with 38 clinical locations and an internationally accredited acute-care medical center.
Klamath Promise
A cross-sector coalition working to raise the high-school graduation rate in Klamath County and connect every student with a clear pathway to college, career, or service after graduation.
Friends of the Klamath County Library
A volunteer-driven nonprofit supporting library programs, literacy initiatives, and the renovation of the Klamath County Main Library — keeping books and community spaces accessible to all.
Klamath Large Animal Shelter
Over 32 years of restoring horses and other large animals to health and rehoming them, providing a second chance at life — a 501(c)(3) at 500 Miller Island Road, run by volunteers and powered by community donations.
Klamath Food Bank
Feeding Klamath County families through partnerships with local growers, grocery retailers, and the Oregon Food Bank network — built and led for three decades by dedicated community leaders.
Integral Youth Services (IYS)
Born of compassion in 1988, IYS runs nine programs serving over 60,000 Klamath County youth lives to date — including My Friend's Place runaway shelter (ages 10–17), transitional housing, food security, mentorship, and workforce development. The 'Love Our Children's Day' annual giving campaign benefits all programs.
Klamath Family Warming Center (KFWC)
A heartwarming mission of Thrive Church providing overnight shelter to individuals and families during the coldest months — open December 1 through March 15, 6 PM to 10 AM nightly. Guests have saved enough during stays to secure permanent housing.
Assistance League of Klamath Basin (ALKB)
Over 30 years of community-powered service — flagship Operation School Bell provides new, school-appropriate clothing to students across 39 schools in Klamath County and Tulelake. Volunteer-driven, supported by the Findables Thrift Shop at 1330 E. Main.
Paddling for Childhood Cancer (PFCC) — Sister Sledge
A Klamath Falls pickleball-family nonprofit raising over $60,000 annually for local families navigating childhood cancer — no strings attached, supporting medical bills, household expenses, and quality-of-life for siblings. Anchored by an annual September pickleball tournament and silent auction.
Klamath County Developmental Disabilities Services (KCDDS)
Klamath County agency providing services and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities — hosts the 5th Annual Trunk or Treat (4,000+ attendees in 2024) at the John Hancock Event Center, including a dedicated 'Quiet Hour' for sensory accessibility. Builds inclusive community experiences that remove barriers and welcome families of all abilities.
Klamath Falls Gospel Mission
Providing meals, shelter, and recovery programs for Klamath Falls' most vulnerable neighbors — six decades of rescue, recovery, and renewal grounded in Christian values, addressing the root causes of homelessness and addiction.
Klamath Trails Alliance
Building, maintaining, and advocating for non-motorized recreational trails across the Klamath Basin — connecting families, hikers, and mountain bikers to the outdoors that define our region.
Lighthouse School
A Klamath Falls independent school offering individualized education with a faith-based foundation — meeting each student where they are and helping them grow into purposeful adults.
Klamath Falls Migratory Bird Day (Klamath Basin Audubon)
25 years of community celebration connecting the Klamath Basin to its position on the Pacific Flyway — partnership between US Fish & Wildlife Service, City of Klamath Falls, and Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Free annual event at Veterans Park each May.
Klamath Sunrise Rotary
A local Rotary Club nonprofit organizing the annual Brats, Blues & Brews Festival and other community fundraisers. Proceeds benefit Hospice Camp Evergreen (youth bereavement camp), Camp Sapling, Klamath Youth Programs, and other Rotary service projects across the basin.
