Estella Woodley, Director of the Klamath Community College (KCC) Small Business Development Center (SBDC), has received the America's SBDC State Star Award for Oregon, recognizing her outstanding work championing small business growth and economic development throughout the region.
Woodley received the honor at the America's SBDC annual training event, where she was recognized before an audience of nearly 1,000 business development professionals from across the country.
Woodley has been with the Oregon SBDC Network for just over five years. She began as a business adviser before KCC promoted her to SBDC Director three years ago, taking an already healthy center and making it even stronger. She also regularly steps forward to support the wider Oregon SBDC Network, and for the last three years she has led the network's Servicios en Español program, so clients with limited English proficiency can call, email and register for services in their primary language and be paired with a bilingual adviser.
The America's SBDC State Star Award honors people who go above and beyond in small business development, whether through hands-on client service, technical assistance programs, major contributions to their state's SBDC network, or exceptional community impact.
