From Market to Farm: Klamath Grown's Second Annual Small Farm Tour Celebrates National Farmers Market Week

Klamath Falls, Oregon — As communities across the country celebrate National Farmers Market Week, Klamath Grown invites residents and visitors to continue the celebration by stepping beyond the market and onto the farms themselves during the Second Annual Klamath Small Farm Tour on Sunday, August 9.

The Klamath Basin is fortunate to have several vibrant farmers markets that connect residents with fresh, locally grown food throughout the season, including the Klamath Falls Farmers Market (Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.), Merrill Farmers Market (Thursdays, 4–6 p.m.), Chiloquin Farmers Market (Friday afternoons), Bonanza Farmers Market (Friday afternoons), and the Sunday Community Market (select Sundays at Tractor Supply). The Small Farm Tour builds on that momentum by giving visitors the opportunity to meet the farmers where they grow, raise, and harvest the food that nourishes our community.

Following a successful inaugural event — and thanks to a sponsorship from Travel Oregon — this year's self-guided Farm Tour is bigger than ever, featuring seven unique destinations, three new stops, expanded activities, and more local food and beverage vendors. This year, every stop will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with guided tours beginning every hour and half hour, making it easier for visitors to plan their own route and explore at their own pace.

The Small Farm Tour celebrates the farmers, ranchers, growers, and food producers who make the Klamath Basin's local food system thrive. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the people behind their food, tour working farms and ranches, enjoy locally prepared bites and beverages, and experience the beauty and diversity of agriculture throughout the region.

What's New This Year

The 2026 Farm Tour introduces three new destinations:

  • Birdhouse Flower Farm, showcasing beautiful locally grown flowers and cut flower production.
  • Volcanic Winery, the Klamath Basin's only full-production winery, offering visitors a chance to learn about local winemaking and take a tour of their vineyard.
  • The Klamath Community Garden, a beautiful gathering place hosted by Klamath Works that demonstrates how community gardens strengthen neighborhoods while increasing access to fresh food.

This year, every stop will remain open for the full four-hour event, giving guests the flexibility to build their own itinerary and spend more time exploring each location. Guided tours will begin every hour and every half hour at every stop throughout the morning.

More Than a Farm Tour

In addition to farm tours, visitors can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, demonstrations, and local food experiences throughout the day, including:

  • Fresh Mexican cuisine from Fresh & Delish
  • BBQ from Squeals on Wheels
  • Fresh baked goods from Bonnie Nork
  • Fresh sourdough from Simply K
  • Local kombucha from Erin Barker (Erin's Elixir)
  • Wool spinning demonstrations by Klamath Spinners & Weavers Guild members
  • Native plant education from Klamath Native Plant Society
  • Oregon State University staff and Master Gardener Volunteers
  • Face painting by Kay
  • Kid crafts and activities sponsored by Sage Credit Union

Guests can also collect stamps in a Farm Tour Passport while visiting participating locations and submit completed passports for a chance to win prizes. The Passport is available on Klamath Grown's website, at the Klamath Falls Farmers Market, or at sites on the Tour.

Many of the farms featured on the tour also supply products through Klamath Grown's year-round online marketplace and local farmers markets, giving visitors the opportunity to connect the food they enjoy throughout the year with the people who produce it.
