George Nurse Way near Veterans Park will be closed to traffic on Friday, September 11, 2026, for the annual Patriot Day Ceremony hosted by the Veterans Advisory Council. The road closure will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Motorists should expect traffic control devices and road closure signage in the area and are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure. The traffic control plan indicates that marina parking is for marina users only and should not be blocked or used for event parking. Drivers are asked to use caution while traveling through the area and follow all posted traffic control signs and directions from event personnel.
