"Our prayer is to bring the light of Christ to the Basin during this season. What better time to share the peace and joy of Jesus than at Christmas?"

Meet the Band — A Blend of Faith, Fellowship, and Musicianship

In the heart of Klamath Falls, three lifelong locals — Jonathan and Lindsey Doud, and Brenna Morgan — are bringing a new kind of performance to the community they love. Having spent years involved in local theater, symphony, and music ensembles, the trio began to feel a stirring: a desire to do more than simply entertain.

"As we grew in our faith," they share, "we wanted to redeem that time on stage… to share the Gospel and point our community to Jesus Christ through Scripture-centered music."

That passion gave birth to Most Excellent Theophilus, a band united by faith and musical excellence. The group's name nods to Theophilus, the recipient of the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts, "most excellent" in title, and symbolic of anyone seeking truth and good news.

The band has since grown to include a talented ensemble of musicians from across the Basin: Kyle Staunton, Laureen Bouma, Zach Southwell, Tamara Emard, Kristoff Moon, Joshua Lilly, and Jana Morgan. Together, they share one mission: to glorify God by sharing the gospel through Christ-centered music presented with both artistry and authenticity.

A Christmas to Remember — "Behold the Lamb" at the Ross Ragland Theater

This holiday season, Most Excellent Theophilus invites the community to a special musical event unlike any other. Their upcoming production, "Behold the Lamb: A Nashville Christmas Concert," will take the stage at the Ross Ragland Theater on December 16th at 7 PM, offering a rich blend of storytelling, Scripture, and song.

Tickets can be purchased at the Ross Ragland box office or at ragland.org.

The concert unfolds in two parts:

  • Act I. A collection of Christmas favorites and original arrangements, showcasing the voices and talents of the band members.
  • Act II. "Behold the Lamb of God" by Andrew Peterson — a moving, folk-style retelling of the Christmas story that traces the promise of redemption from the Old Testament to the birth of Christ.

"Our year has been marred by so much unrest, division, and fear within our country and even our local community. Our prayer," the group says, "is to bring the light of Christ to the Basin during this season. What better time to share the peace and joy of Jesus than at Christmas?"

Through beautiful harmonies, storytelling, and a spirit of worship, Most Excellent Theophilus hopes to remind Klamath Falls that Christmas is more than a season — it's a celebration of the Savior's sacrificial love for His people.
