Miss Klamath County / Miss City of Sunshine Scholarship Program

The Miss Klamath County / Miss City of Sunshine Scholarship Program — operated by the 501(c)(3) Women's Scholarship Foundation of Klamath County — is an official local preliminary of the Miss America Opportunity, founded in 1966. It serves young women ages 14-28 across Klamath, Lake, Jackson, and Deschutes counties through two local titles (each with a Miss and a Teen division), and every participant earns a scholarship regardless of placement. The program has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships over its history - over $100,000 since 2022 alone - and advances its winners to the Miss Oregon state competition.
