Klamath Music is heading into one of its most exciting seasons yet, with a full lineup of concerts, a community workshop, and special events leading into the organization's 10th anniversary celebration this July. For us, summer isn't just a series of shows. It's the next chapter in a growing cultural ecosystem shaped by the musicians, venues, and audiences who make the Basin feel like home.
Things kick off June 4 at the Running Y Resort with Kevin Dorin and The Uncharted Project, followed by a July 2 return to the Running Y for a beach-party-themed evening featuring acclaimed songwriter Justin Farren and Miki Rae & The Hooligans, whose genre-bending sound fuses reggae-rock grooves with island-inspired rhythms and a psychedelic edge. Both shows are part of The Klamath Stage, Klamath Music's semi-monthly showcase series that highlights the interconnected network of artists, venues, and listeners who keep live music thriving in the Basin. Running Y performances carry a modest $10 cover, with proceeds supporting Klamath Music's nonprofit work throughout the community.
The centerpiece of the season arrives July 24 & 25 as Klamath Music celebrates a decade of programming with the return of the Klamath Music Festival — now expanded to two days and hosted at the new Watershed Row complex in downtown Klamath Falls. This year's festival brings together multi-genre national, regional, and local artists, headlined by Beastie Boys legend, Mix Master Mike. Festival proceeds help sustain Klamath Music's year-round programs, ensuring that music remains accessible and welcoming.
The momentum continues August 6 at The Falls Taphouse with Apis Mellifera and The Alpines, followed by the August 15 workshop Freeing Your Inner Artist, a hands-on session designed to help musicians unlock their creative potential. The season rounds out with a curated Beginners & Newcomers Open Mic on September 3 at Watershed Row and the fall Under Klamath Skies (our live music, art, and history collaboration with Underground Art KF and the Klamath County Museum) on October 1 featuring Micah Lambert and sitarist Roger Jaeger.
It's a full season, and an open invitation to be part of the Basin's growing musical ecosystem. Whether you're performing, listening, learning, or simply showing up, you help shape the culture we're building together – one where music builds bridges and contributes to a stronger, more connected community.
