At LT Excavating & Precast, we're always looking for ways to deliver smarter, more efficient, and higher-quality solutions to our customers — and one of the most transformative tools we've added to our lineup is mix-on-demand concrete.

Traditional ready-mix concrete has long been the standard, but it also comes with limitations that can impact timing, cost, and quality. That's why our team has invested in mobile mixing technology, offering a better alternative for residential, commercial, and industrial projects across the region.

What is Mix-On-Demand Concrete?

Mix-on-demand concrete is exactly what it sounds like — concrete that is mixed right on-site, precisely when it's needed.

Unlike traditional batch plants that mix concrete before it's transported to the jobsite, our volumetric mixers store the raw materials (cement, sand, aggregate, water) separately and combine them only when the truck is in position and ready to pour.

This means the concrete isn't curing or aging during transit, so you get fresh concrete every time.

Key Benefits

No waste. Pay only for what you use. Order an estimate; we mix the exact amount your job needs. No "load minimum" overpaying. No "we brought too much and now it's hardening in the truck."

Fresh every pour. Because the concrete is mixed seconds before the pour, you get the strongest, most workable concrete possible. No risk of partial setting from a long drive across the basin.

Multiple mix designs in one trip. We can adjust the mix on the fly — different strengths, different colors, different additives — all from the same truck. This is especially useful for jobs that need both a footing pour and a finish pour in the same visit.

Smaller jobs welcome. Traditional ready-mix is tough to source for smaller residential pours (1-3 yards). Volumetric mixers make small pours affordable and well-served.

Better for remote sites. Jobs at the edges of the basin (or up forest roads) benefit dramatically from on-site mixing — no risk of the load setting before you get there.

Who It's For

  • Homeowners doing patios, foundations, walkways
  • Contractors running residential builds, decks, retaining walls
  • Commercial sites needing flexible pour schedules
  • Industrial projects requiring multiple mix designs per visit
