As Klamath Living magazine's publisher, my deep roots in this region fuel my commitment to its growth.
Born in California and raised here as a fourth-generation resident, I've seen our community's ups and downs. Despite challenges, our resilience and unity have always moved us forward.
A Legacy of Perseverance and Compassion
Growing up in poverty in 1980s Klamath Falls, I personally witnessed the importance of community support.
When I was five years old, I suffered an accident that left me injured and struggling with ADHD and dyslexia. As a result, by age ten, I ended up in state care — but local organizations like the ones we now advocate for became my lifeline.
That experience shaped how I see this magazine, this town, and the role each of us plays in caring for our neighbors.
The Transformative Power of Giving Back
Years later, I found my way back to Klamath Falls — and to a publication where I could spend every issue giving back to the community that gave to me.
Every charity spotlight we publish, every nonprofit feature, every cover family who shares their story, every business profile celebrating the people behind the work — all of it traces back to that simple belief: the community lifts each other up, and when one of us wins, all of us win.
A Holistic Approach to Community Betterment
We see a future where economic growth and philanthropy work together.
This starts with:
- Better-trained employees
- Teamwork between organizations
- Attracting new businesses that align with the basin's values
- Cross-sector collaboration — business + government + education + real estate + philanthropy
I believe Klamath Falls' success depends on business, government, education, real estate, and philanthropy working together rather than in silos.
A Sister-Publication Strategy
Klamath Living is part of the Best Version Media family — which means we have access to sister publications across multiple regions. We can use those connections to attract more businesses and support to Klamath Falls by introducing Klamath as a place worth investing in to audiences who might never otherwise hear about us.
That's a real strategic asset for the basin — and we're committed to using it.
A Community-Driven Vision
To those who've shared ideas, suggested organizations to feature, and offered to work with us — thank you. Your passion for our community matches ours at Klamath Living.
The stories of resilience and hope from these organizations show the power of compassion. While we can't always share specific details, these stories remind us how one kind act can change a life.
A Tapestry of Shared Experiences
As we enter our third year serving Klamath Falls, we aim to be stronger advocates for local businesses and community groups.
We believe that improving our business community and local economy will help everyone — especially those who need support from the organizations we champion.
We invite you to be part of this work.
Conclusion — Manifesting a Brighter Tomorrow
As another day ends in Klamath Falls, I feel hopeful for our future.
Our journey is about creating a better tomorrow for our community. Together, we can make Klamath Falls a place of hope and progress where families, businesses, and youth thrive. Let's write a new chapter in our hometown's history — defined by compassion and resilience.
With our community's wisdom and resources, our potential is limitless. Let's embrace this opportunity and create a brighter, more prosperous, and inclusive future for Klamath Falls.
Together, we can achieve more than we ever imagined.
