At Painted Pieces, we are a husband-and-wife team that began refinishing furniture seven years ago in our garage.

As the years passed, our passion for the work grew — and so did our small business.

It has grown beyond our wildest dreams.

As we have flourished with the work, so too has the list of the services we provide — including cabinet refinishing and epoxy countertops.

From Garage to Storefront

We opened our first storefront in 2017 to provide a place to sell our refinished furniture along with quality paint and stain lines.

After a couple of years, we realized we had outgrown our old location and went hunting for a bigger space to lease.

We hadn't considered purchasing — until we found a beautiful, historical building for sale right on Main Street.

The Historic Main Street Building

From the day we saw it, we knew it was perfect — and we purchased the building in 2021.

After a year of renovations, we moved in May of 2022.

Restoring a historic Main Street building to serve as both our retail storefront and our active workshop felt exactly right — we're a furniture-refinishing business, and our building is itself a refinished historic structure.

Three Businesses Under One Roof

Our business is multifaceted, and our brick-and-mortar storefront is just a small element of it.

We do a lot. At times it feels like we are running three separate small businesses.

1. Retail Storefront

At our store, we sell:

  • Refinished furniture — pieces we've restored to beautiful, functional condition
  • Curated home decor — selected items that complement our refinished pieces
  • A variety of DIY (Do It Yourself) products — for customers who want to do their own refinishing projects

2. Active Creative Workshop

Our new location is also home to our active and creative workshop — where we:

  • Refinish furniture brought in from customers
  • Refinish cabinets for kitchen and bathroom renovations
  • Apply epoxy countertops
  • Restore antique pieces
  • Take on custom commissions

3. DIY Education and Product Sales

We provide:

  • Quality paint lines
  • Stain lines
  • DIY products with the supplies, advice, and product knowledge customers need to do their own projects

What We Specialize In

Specialties:

  • Cabinet and furniture refinishing
  • Furniture restoration
  • Epoxy resin countertops
  • Cabinet refacing
  • Antique restoration

Our Mission

Our mission is to create warm and inviting spaces filled with beautiful pieces.

Whether that's:

  • A single piece of furniture restored from grandmother's attic
  • A kitchen full of cabinets refinished instead of replaced
  • An epoxy countertop that transforms a tired surface into a showpiece
  • A whole-house refresh through carefully restored furniture

— we're here to help.

Why Refinishing Matters

There's an environmental and economic story underneath what we do:

Environmental

  • Restored furniture stays out of landfills
  • Cabinet refinishing uses a fraction of the materials of full replacement
  • Antique pieces preserved rather than discarded

Economic

  • Refinishing costs significantly less than replacement for most projects
  • Quality vintage furniture often outperforms newer mass-market pieces
  • DIY products let homeowners save labor costs while we handle the technique

Aesthetic

  • Older pieces have character that new furniture often lacks
  • Custom refinishing lets you choose colors and finishes that match your space exactly
  • Antique craftsmanship is worth preserving

A Community That Embraced Us

This wonderful community has embraced our high-quality work and appreciated our customer care.

The people of Klamath County are the cornerstone of our success. We are grateful for our customers and feel blessed to be part of this community.

That community embrace is what allowed us to grow from a garage operation to a Main Street historic-building owner in seven years. It's also what keeps us excited to come into the shop every day.
