What to Expect
The Wings and Eagles Air Show will showcase some of the highest levels of mastery in military aviation, as well as provide an opportunity for viewers to celebrate and honor our nation's military heritage.
The event program will include:
- Riveting aerial performances
- Various interactive exhibits and displays for viewers to explore
- Preparation glimpses — what it takes to put on a performance like this
- Recruiting and outreach interactions with active personnel
The Headliners — The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds
Packed with many great activities, this event will include various aerial performances, most notably the headliners: the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
Interestingly, the Thunderbirds haven't performed in Southern Oregon since 2008. This group of six F-16 jets is renowned for their extreme precision flying — sometimes flying as close as 18 inches apart from one another, an astonishing accomplishment considering the sheer size of the jets. The Thunderbirds specialize in precise air maneuvers and showcase different aspects of Air Force capability throughout each performance.
A Call to the Community
"Please mark your calendar for July 19th and 20th and see your hometown Air Force in action. This is one way Team Kingsley can give back to our amazing community."
— Col. Lambert, 173rd Fighter Wing
More Than a Show
The Wings and Eagles Air Show also serves as a powerful recruitment and outreach tool, showcasing the professionalism and dedication of today's Airmen. For young attendees, seeing the Thunderbirds soar overhead — or speaking with a fighter pilot who trained at Kingsley Field — can be a life-changing experience, sparking dreams of serving their country.
Recruiters and military personnel will be on hand throughout the event to answer questions and share stories, creating an approachable environment for those curious about military life. By connecting the public with the people behind the uniform, the airshow fosters understanding, appreciation, and a shared sense of national pride that extends far beyond the runway.
Home of the Eagles
Kingsley Field, often referred to as the "Home of the Eagles," serves as a proud symbol of American resilience and the enduring spirit of those who serve. The Klamath Falls community is incredibly grateful for the relationship with the 173rd Fighter Wing — and the Wings and Eagles Air Show is one of the most visible expressions of that relationship.
