What I Love About Living in the Klamath Basin
“What I love about the Klamath Basin is the feeling of family intertwined in your everyday life. Here, your neighbors are your extended family. The cohesiveness of the community when support is needed is prevalent throughout the community. Being able to wake up every day and witness the beauty of the basin surrounded by a feeling of family, I wouldn’t want it any other way!”

“I love life in the Basin! I love the easy access to the great outdoors, the four seasons, and most of all, how this community comes together for the better, time and time again.”

“Rural life is like no other. We see where our food comes from. We have shaken hands with the rancher who raises our beef. We send out kids to school where we know their teachers on a personal level. The sense of community is real. Neighbors help each other and watch out for one another.”

“I love that the Klamath Basin is a place of growth, and I don’t just mean physical growth. I appreciate that our community continues to develop as a place of belonging– where voices are heard, appreciated, and valued. I also enjoy the excitement that the basin has about youth and high school activities – people really show up to support their team or club! I’m hopeful for the continued cultivation of belonging and inclusion for all, no matter their age, race, disability, sex, education, or identity status.”

“What I love most about living in Klamath Falls is the connection we all seem to have with each other.
One of the many examples would be raising kids on the same youth sports teams and then supporting the friendly rivalry from the opposing high schools as they compete against each other.
I can never say ‘no’ to a kid at my door selling football cards, candy or beef jerky.
I appreciate the sense of family and a feeling of comfort when seeing a familiar face and getting return smiles wherever I go.
As a lifelong resident, I enjoy the three degrees of separation between myself and most other community members. And, as a volunteerism activist, I am inspired by the generosity of our town and how it consistently comes together for those in need.
This place we call home has the feel of small-town vibes along with big city dreams.”

There are so many things to love about the Klamath Basin from the sweeping views to the proximity to Crater Lake and the boundless wildlife like elk, deer, the migrating waterfowl in later winter along with the hungry pelicans and dancing grebes in the spring.
What I absolutely love the most though is the community! We are a very diverse, caring and family-oriented community and I would not change that for the world.
