YMCA Kicks Off Campaign to Continue Supporting Community
At the Y, we are known for being the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other. Every day, we work side-by-side with our partners, members, and community leaders to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, can learn, grow, and thrive.
Since our establishment in 1944, the YMCA of Klamath Falls has been dedicated to addressing the community's needs. While many may think of the Y as a place with a swimming pool, treadmills, or a spot for coffee, its true impact extends far beyond its four walls. The YMCA plays a vital community role and addresses a critical need by providing affordable quality preschool education and childcare programs that serve senior citizens, children, teens, and families regardless of age, income, or background.
Under the direction of the YMCA Board President and Campaign Chairman Jeffrey Linders, owner of JM Solutions, the YMCA of Klamath Falls launched its impactful annual community campaign on June 6th. The campaign aims to raise funds to support its mission to provide scholarships to individuals and families. This year our goal is $65,000, and the campaign plays a crucial role in ensuring that everyone in the Klamath Basin benefits from vital community programs and resources. These include life-saving drowning prevention classes, the opportunity for a child to experience the magic of summer camp, a place for active older adults to stay connected and fit, and initiatives that bring families together. "Our top priority is to keep our membership cost for everyone as low as possible and to encourage people of all ages to participate in the YMCA programs regardless of their ability to pay," said Steve Meng, YMCA Executive Director.
As we embark on the 2024 Annual Campaign, we are reminded of the Y's impact on our community. When you give to the Y, you are providing children, teens, adults, and families in our community the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Your contributions to our Y, no matter the size, help make these important community services possible. Every gift is greatly appreciated. Leadership gifts of $250 or more shall be recognized in special future publications. All contributions are tax-deductible, and our YMCA accepts gifts of stock and other appreciated assets. Be assured, 98.3% of all contributions shall stay local to better serve the people of the Klamath Basin. While contributions are accepted year-round, we hope to reach our goal of $65,000 before the Thanksgiving holidays.
